McMullen Gone, Willis to Start for Locklear

WR Billy McMullen was relased today after suffering a reported broken ankle at practice Thursday. The unbelievable string of injuries for the Seahawks on offense continues as QB Matt Hasselbeck will also miss his second straight game with a knee bruise and bulging disk in his back.

The Seahawks still have a chance to turn their season around, but it won't be easy on the road against the playoff caliber Buccaneers. Still, there's no excuse for the way the team has folded in the face of adversity, and I keep hoping they will rise up and play a good game again. We'll see.

It also looks like Ray Willis will be at RT for Sean Locklear, a move that is probably necessary as Locklear still doesn't seem completely healthy after recovering from a training camp knee injury. RT is more of a drive blocking position anyway, and that has never been Locklear's forte; he's more of an athletic pass blocker, and probably better suited to LT. The Seahawks were probably thinking along those lines when they signed him to a 5-year extension last off season. Walter Jones can't play forever. We may as well see what we've got in Willis now anyway, since his contract is up this year.

LB Will Herring has been activated from the PUP. Hopefully he can make a difference on the Seahawks pathetic special teams.

Oh, and Alyssa Milano will be at the Seahawks team shop today. Tasty.
